Grounding Exercise

Grounding is a simple and surprisingly powerful technique for getting and staying in touch with Earth energy. As you know there are many different grounding exercises out there. This exercise is from the book called – The Psychic Healing Book. One of my favorites.

Grounding is important in all phases of meditation or psychic work as a means of keeping you in touch with the earth and it’s energy field. Psychic levels of “being” can really only be mastered from a thoroughly grounded place. These techniques keep your spirit and mind in touch with a power source that’s bigger than you, which is the earth.

Here are the steps –

1) Sit in a straight-backed chair with your feet flat on the floor. Remove everything from your lap. Keep your arms and legs uncrossed, and place your hands on your thighs, preferably with palms up.

2) Close your eyes, relax, and clear your mind of clutter as best you can.

3) Now imagine a cord or pole (string, rope, wire, wood, or whatever else appears in your mind’s eye) of energy running from root chakra and connecting deep within the center of the earth.

4) Hold it there for a moment. Disconnect the cord and bring it back. Now send it back down and reconnect. Hold it there.

5) Do this exercise several times in one session. Practice for several days to weeks. You are now grounded to the earth.

Your “grounding cord” will assure your body that it is safely connected with Mother earth, and is in it’s physical security. Work on this exercise until you feel comfortable with the connection. Now you are ready to send psychic vibrations to the earth, which the earth will in turn re-transmit those messages to anyone in the world.
